Sherman IC Hybrid Firefly
Restoration
On behalf of the client, this Firefly Ic Hybrid is undergoing a complete Class A restoration. The project began with a bare hull and a handful of loose parts. The entire suspension is overhauled, while the externally rebuilt engine is fully inspected, fitted with restored auxiliaries, timed, and power-tested on our Clayton dynamometer.
The electrical system will be completely reconstructed, with all components restored and the vehicle entirely rewired. The gearbox and differential will be fully rebuilt, and a new interior, designed and fabricated in-house, will be created using measurements taken from several original Firefly tanks.
The hull will be repaired and converted back to the correct Firefly configuration, reversing the later Argentine repotenciado modifications. The 105 mm turret will be transformed into an early high-bustle Firefly turret, including welding the original Argentine radio box, found in France, onto the rear. The barrel, sourced in Finland, will be combined with newly manufactured reproduction gun components.
In essence, the vehicle will become a faithful reconstruction of a 1943 Chrysler-built Sherman, converted into a Firefly in the United Kingdom.
